Psychologist in Los Angeles
Are you looking for a psychologist in Los Angeles? Well, allow me to introduce myself… I’m Dr. Martha Williams, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based out of San Francisco. I specialize in adult anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and life transitions, and I’m excited to expand my practice to virtual patients in Los Angeles.
While Los Angeles is a beautiful, vibrant place, it can take a toll on you. Between the fast-paced nature of the city, high-pressure careers in competitive industries, and demanding social circles, it’s enough for anyone to feel overwhelmed.
Meet Dr. Martha Williams — Your Psychologist available in Los Angeles
With over 30 years of clinical experience and my licensure in California, I have spent many wonderful years working with clients. I’m thrilled to expand my practice and offer confidential, telehealth therapy to patients in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, and San Jose.
When working with clients, my main focus is to make sure you feel safe, heard, and understood. Throughout our partnership, we’ll work towards the goals we’ve set, leveraging Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Techniques, including other data based strategies to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and utilize emotional clarity. Your journey is uniquely yours, and I will be there to guide you and create a safe space for your progress.
CBT, like many other forms of therapy, is client-led yet collaborative. Before we begin working together, it is important that you can commit to being an active participant and completing homework assignments, which we agree upon, to advance progress toward your goals. Most importantly, though, you must have a desire and willingness to change, and the time to commit to doing so.
Over the years, I have found my approach to be especially helpful for busy, high-functioning individuals, and now, as a psychologist available in Los Angeles, I’m excited to support a new community. With goal-oriented therapy, focused coping strategies, and mindfulness strategies, we will work toward finding balance and stability that will make you feel like a weight has been lifted.
Dr. Martha Williams Services
Throughout my 30 years in the field, I worked in hospitals and private medical practices as well as working in my private practice. While I have worked with adults facing various challenges, there are common reasons why someone may come to me for therapy.
-
If you’re struggling with anxiety, you can carry worry and fear with you day-to-day. No matter what you do, you can never truly relax your body or mind. My approach to easing anxiety helps you focus on the connection between the mind and body by combining CBT and Mindfulness skills and techniques. My goal is to help you develop practical coping strategies to stay grounded when you need them most.

While it’s natural to feel down or be in a bad mood, depression is much different. This lingering sadness can make it difficult to focus on everyday tasks or stay connected to those closest to you. Depression can feel lonely, but we can manage it as a team. Together, we will set goals and find a way for you to recover your well-being.
-
The emotional and physical challenges of living with a chronic illness are often overlooked. This is why I make it my priority to support clients living with constant strain on their bodies and minds. Whether you’re confronting a new diagnosis or managing a condition you’ve battled for years, I am committed to creating a safe space where you can discuss your experience and the difficulties that come with it.
-
Change is an inevitable part of life, but it’s also really heavy. Whether it’s a new promotion, a relationship, or another life transition, we can process it together. My goal is to teach you skills and strategies so you can stay grounded while navigating these changes. Together, we will address whatever transition you are going through and explore ways to calm your mind and body to gain clarity for wise choices.
-
No matter the relationship type, it’s natural to struggle with trust, difficult conversations, and compromise. My goal is to create a non-judgmental space where you can speak openly about your relationships to an unbiased party. Your experiences are unique, and together, we will explore the best way forward, whether it be regarding communication, boundary setting, or needs that aren’t being met.
