Therapy for Chronic Illness

Living with a chronic illness can be a strain on both your body and your mind. Oftentimes, the emotional challenges are overlooked by the physical ones, which can be a tough balance to manage. That's why I make it a priority that my clients feel supported and have the space to discuss the challenges of managing a condition, whether it's a new diagnosis or one you've managed for years. Although therapy for chronic illness will not completely eliminate symptoms,, through our work, you can learn to manage the emotions, thoughts and beliefs that come with it, and start to experience yourself more comfortably.

When to Get Help

Medical issues, from short-term recovery to long-term chronic pain, can come with a lot of emotions. It's never too early or too late to reach out and begin learning the skills to help you navigate the feelings that come with the condition you are managing. A therapist is a great resource to help work through the frustrations of diagnoses, financial worries, and all the parts of your life that are affected, helping to manage your overall well-being as your body works to heal.

How Therapy Helps with Chronic Illness

Chronic illness therapy is structured to help you balance everything that comes with managing a condition.

I create a safe place where you can discuss your experience from diagnosis to current day-to-day life.

As a team, we'll learn new coping methods to help your overall quality of life, including lifestyle changes, routines, and other methods to improve your social, physical, and psychological well-being.

Why Work with Me

I have extensive experience working with individuals throughout California who are managing a chronic illness. I specialized in Oncology for many years, but also transitioned into working with other illnesses outside of cancer, including a range of autoimmune diseases. Each one is unique, but I help you focus on managing the emotions that come with your condition.
